Jolita Pons is Head of Political Section in the EU Delegation to Russia. She has joined the EU Delegation to Russia as Head of Political section in September 2019. In 2015 -2019, she was Deputy Head of the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, Head of Political, Press and Information Section. During her earlier professional career in the EU institutions, she dealt with various issues ranging from the political and security situation analysis of China, India and the Korean Peninsula to sectorial issues such as cyber, energy or development cooperation in relation to EU-China cooperation. She also managed a China research programme ECRAN. Jolita Pons holds a PhD in Philosophy from Cambridge University and MA in European Union Law from Jean Moulin III University in Lyon. She is the author of a book on Kierkegaard Stealing a Gift(Fordham University Press, 2004), as well as numerous academic articles.
