How to apply


Participants in the Summer School

Maximum number of participants: 25 on campus and 10 online.

The participants of the summer school on campus are responsible for arranging their own flights and accommodation.

The summer school is of interest to:

  • Students enrolled in second cycle of studies in International or European studies (departments of political science or law)
  • Students of other departments with a special interest for the EU external action

The minimum recommended level of English language competence is B2.

How to apply

The deadline for applications is 9th of May 2022.

In order to apply, students must follow the procedure on the website of the UNIPI-summer schools (see “How to apply” on the website of the UNIPI-summer schools). Although the deadline to apply is at the end of April, applicants may be offered a place in the summer school before that date if their CVs, motivations, and English language competence are exceptionally good.

The selected students will have 10 days to pay for the fees (see the “Fees” section on the website of the UNIPI-summer schools) from the date of notification of their admission.  Payment cannot be refunded. Upon receipt of proof of payment, registration to the summer school will be confirmed by the coordinators.

 Students who apply for a scholarship will be notified about their acceptance for the summer school by the 9th of May 2022. However, they should be aware that the outcome of the application procedure for the scholarship will not be known until the 15th of May (for more information about the scholarships, see the next section).

The scholarships

Two scholarships, covering the Summer School’s tuition fees, are available for students registered in a foreign University.

Students wishing to apply for the scholarship should indicate it in the application form.

The scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of his/her CV, language proficiency, interest and motivations to take part in the summer school. The selection process will take into consideration the geographic diversity of applicants. Successful applicants will be notified by the 15thof May 2022.

The students who are NOT selected for the scholarship will have 10 days to pay for the fees and complete their registration for the summer school. Should the selected students not pay for the tuition fees, they will not be able to register for the summer school.

The scholarship does not include travel and accommodation expenses.

Reserved scholarships
Three scholarships are available to MGIMO students who are registered in the first year of the double degree in International studiesat the University of Pisa. In addition, one student for each of the partner institutions of the EUDIPLO project (Universities of Groningen, Geneva and Leuven) are eligible for a waiver from the summer school’s fees. The selection process of these students will be carried out by each partner institution.  These students should apply to the summer school(see the “How to apply” on the website of the UNIPI-summer schools); subsequently, their applications will be sent to the partner institutions. The scholarship does not include travel and accommodation expenses.
Fees and payments methods
The fee for the summer school is 250 EURThe fee is not refundable and includes course materials which will be accessible online on a dedicated e-learning platform. For further information regarding the payment, see the “Fees” section on the website of the UNIPI-summer schools.
